Rapatriation of Quentin's PR from his fork into a PR from a local branch.
This PR introduces some new ways to improve code style :
pre-commit: Git Hooks, useful for identifying simple issues before submission to code review.
eslint/prettierc: removes all original styling and ensures that all outputted code conforms to a consistent style.
